This Wonderful Woman Lets Us Experience A Day Living In Rural Vietnam
It's probably more like your life than you might think...
Imgur user kjusielvi saw an article about a day in the life of someone who lived in Scotland, so she decided to give us a glimpse into her life in rural Vietnam
kjusielvi is in her hometown, a small village.
kjusielvi wakes up at 5:30 am, something common in Vietnam. Many people work as farmers, and get up early to avoid the heat.
kjusielvi is already doing better than me at any summer vacation. Seriously.
Time for breakfast! Pre-packaged noodles, but fresh vegetables!
This looks delicious!
The worst part of the morning? Dish washing time! kjusielvi explains that in the country many Vietnamese households are traditional, so it's the women's job to do the dishes-she does them to keep her Mom happy!
Keeping Mom happy is priority one!
kjusielvi's favorite thing about being home from school? Being in nature. There are trees everywhere, and after a year in Hanoi, a polluted city, she's happy to see lots of trees!
And with a view like this, who could blame her?
After doing some work, translating instructions for a blood pressure cuff for her Grandfather, kjusielvi got hungry...
It's tough work, but we're sure Grandpa appreciated it!
kjusielvi shows us her refrigerator, full of fresh food! She tells us that because she lives in the countryside, food is fresh and cheap-ultimately she chooses to eat a mango, because they're in season and delicious!
Moving to Vietnam looks more and more likely...
Two mainstays of life? The vapor machine (left) and mosquito killer (right). On hot days they use the vapor machine to cool themselves down, and that smiley machine attracts Mosquitoes and kills them!
Seriously where can I get five of those mosquito machines?
After a day spent taking pictures and hanging out, kjusielvi does what most of us do-screw around on the internet!
Being a college kid is the same in every country!
Time for bed, and another essential; the mosquito nets!
Her brother is still playing Grand Theft Auto in the background!
kjusielvi documented this to remind her how peaceful life can be- and she has a good point. Wherever we are, we can all take a moment to try and make life a little more peaceful.
Nice going kjusielvi!
