The new school of tennis is full of title-hungry young men and women, all born in the 90s. Some of these names are so unfamiliar, you've probably never heard about them. Let's take look at these new bloods who brought their showcase to the 2016 Australian Open in Melbourne.
Grigor Dimitrov - 24
Dimitrov's style of play has been compared to Roger Federer, earning him the name "Baby Fed." Now that he's through to the third round at the Australian Open, he's eyeing a chance to break out of Federer's shadow.
Eugenie Bourchard - 21
Bourchard who's had a faster rising career in tennis was knocked out in the second round of the Australian Open.
Simona Halep - 24
It was a shocking departure when a major player like Halep was knocked out in the first round of the Australian Open.
Milos Raonic - 25
Raonic has also aced through to the third round in the Australian Open.
Nick Kyrgios - 20
Kyrgios had to go through a major fashion disaster (apparently his shorts were too tight and he wouldn't let it go until he changed them) to reach the third round of the Australian Open.
Garbine Muguruza - 22
Garbine Muguruza is through to the third round.
Sloane Stephens - 22
Stephens was eliminated in the first round of the Australian open.
Belinda Bencic - 18
At only 18, Bencic is on her way to becoming a teen grand slammer after acing to the third round in the Australian Open.
Jerzy Janowicz - 25
Janowicz was defeated in the second round.
Dominic Thiem -22
Joining his peers like Muguruza and Kyrgios, Thiem has also moved into the third round of the Australian Open.
