An 18-Year-Old Australian Pilot Is The Youngest To Fly Solo Around The World
Lachlan Smart has broken a really awesome world record.
After 8 weeks and 15 countries, 18-year-old Lachlan Smart became the youngest person to circumnavigate the world in a single-engine aircraft.
The most impressive part? He beat the standing record by 358 days.
Smart was given a key to his hometown, Sunshine Coast, and greeted with great fanfare.
He had been mentored by the man who last held this record, Ryan Campbell.
The pilot has been travelling alone for two months and when his mother was approached, she said she was most excited for a quiet night with her son playing board games.
